Well done to the Knitters!
Our knitting project is a means by which Knitters from the church and their friends, make jumpers ,hats and blankets for babies and young children in Africa. For further information
On 23rd July, 2019 16 parcels were sent to Kwazulu in South Africa (by post) containing 353 knitted hats and 140 jumpers which had recently been blessed by Fr Prem. All items have been knitted by ladies from St Edwards and their friends.
We were able to cover the postage of £167.70 (receipts available upon request) with money tithed by the PCC, given in donations or left over from previous posting. We have £80.00+ in the kitty to help with our next posting. ( see below)

2022 update
On 16th February 2022, 3 large boxes were sent to Northampton ( for onward shipment to Africa) containing 400+ knitted items, hats, jumpers and cot blankets which had recently been blessed by Fr. Prem. All items have been knitted by ladies from St Edwards.
We were able to cover the postage from money remaining in the kitty and we have enough money for our next shipment.
A big thank you to Vivienne, Dawn and Joyce for their hard work and those who have donated wool for us to use. Well done to everyone and thank you to Kevin for helping with the packing and delivery to the parcel depot.
More are needed so in the meantime …..

2023 updates
March 2023
Our knitting ladies have been busy again. Joyce has knitted 35 childrens’ blankets, while Vivienne, Dawn and Jacqueline have knitted 50+ jumpers, some with matching hats and cot blankets.
Once these items were blessed by Fr Prem, they were packed up and sent to the Phoenix Resource Centre ,who will distribute them along with medical supplies and hospital equipment to charities around the world where they are needed.

Our knitting ladies have been busy again. Joyce has knitted 43 childrens’ blankets, while Vivienne, Dawn and Jaqueline have knitted 75+ jumpers, some with matching hats.
Once these items were blessed by Fr Prem, they were packed up and sent to the Phoenix Resource Centre ( see below) who will distribute them in Africa and other places where they are needed.

We have recently been contacted by and joined by the Ladies from St Marks Church Reigate.Their Craft Group delivered two ( Pre Blessed) boxes with “Lots of Goodies” to us and they will be added to the next load sent to Phoenix . The Load includes Blankets,Hats,Mittens, Jumpers,Cardigans,Knitted Soft Toys and Patchwork Quilts ( sewn). Many thanks to The Ladies and to Tony,Patricia and Marion for delivering the boxes to us
We have a cake sale in September to raise funds for postage for the boxed up items .
