Flower Service

An extra service was held at St. Edward’s Church on Sunday, 18th July, specifically to celebrate the beauty and glorious colours of flowers which are so abundant at this time, and the wonderful gift of the whole of God’s creation.  The service was well attended and everyone brought cut or potted flowers and plants, which were displayed around the church. There were short readings and prayers, a poem and some suitable music. Silent time was reserved for private reflection. The service ended with a flower arranging workshop, skilfully led, but at times hilarious. Everyone left with a smile on their face. An extravagance perhaps, but so uplifting.
