ST EDWARD’S IN THE COMMUNITY

    

St Edward’s Church and Hall are both regularly used by and for the benefit of the Local Community and for Good Causes from further afar .

St Edwards Actively support the Vine Food Bank ( New Addington)

There is a Collection ” Crate”  at the rear of the Church by the door for all your Donations

( not limited to food)-  Donations of Toiletries and similar items are also always welcome or see below .

The Salvation Army runs ‘The Vine’ foodbank in New Addington. This is located in  the lane between 11 & 13 Salcot Crescent, New Addington.

The Vine is open for donations on Tuesday evenings from 7-8pm and Saturday mornings from 9-10am and for food referrals on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 10am-12pm.

Come And Meet Each Other

(CAMEO)

CAMEO is a group for anyone of retirement age to meet together for tea and chat. The group meets on the first Wednesday of each month  in St Edward’s Church Hall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

St Edwards Knitting Group

March 2023

Our knitting ladies have been busy again.  Joyce has knitted 35 childrens’ blankets, while Vivienne, Dawn and Jacqueline have knitted 50+ jumpers, some with matching hats and cot  blankets. Once these items were blessed by Fr Prem, they were packed up and sent to the Phoenix Resource Centre who distribute them along with medical supplies and hospital equipment to charities around the world where they are needed.

October 2023

Our knitting ladies have been busy again. Joyce has knitted 43 childrens’ blankets,  while Vivienne, Dawn and Jaqueline have knitted 75+ jumpers, some with matching hats. Once these items were blessed by Fr Prem, they were packed up and sent to the Phoenix Resource Centre ( see below) who will distribute them in Africa and other places, where they are needed.If you would like to join us, or if you would like to donate wool or contribute towards the cost of postage, please speak to Jacqueline Sanderson . A big thank you must go to all our ladies and to Kevin who deals with the packing and delivery to the postal depot.

March 2024

We have recently been contacted by and joined by the Ladies from St Marks Church Reigate.Their Craft Group delivered two boxes with “Lots of Goodies” to us and they will be added to the next load sent to Phoenix . The Load includes Blankets,Hats,Mittens, Jumpers,Cardigans,Knitted Soft Toys and Patchwork Quilts ( sewn).  Many thanks to The  Ladies and to Tony,Patricia and Marion for delivering the boxes to us
